Maxwell Smart (Steve Carrell) is trying to prove to, his idol Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson) and Chief of CONTROL (Alan Arkin) that he needs to be promoted. Before that happens CONTROL's enemy CAOS, a terrorist organization attacks control and almost all of CONTROL's agents are killed, Max becomes Agent 86 and is paired up with Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) to travel to Russia and find out how CAOS has been getting nuclear weapons.
